One and a half months before
The result of pre-screening of certificate admitting aliens by Tokyo Immigration Bureau is informed to NJA.
Applicants pay the registration/tuition fees to get the “CESR”. The applicants who apply for the dormitory is expected to pay 3-months dormitory fee together.
One month before
Applicants apply for visa at Japanese Consulate in applicant’s country.
One week before
Applicants prepare for the other necessary items for the living in Japan with the advice and information by NJA.

In the case of a visit visa
One month before
Applicants fill in the application forms and submit it to NJA.
NJA sends you an invoice. Applicants transfer money to NJA.
NJA issues “Entrance Permit” to applicants.
Applicants apply to Japanese Embassies or Consulates in their countries for visit visa.
Entrance
After obtaining visit visa, applicants can come to Japan and enter NJA.
